Time Capsule タイムカプセル: Exclusive feature on resør

Time Capsule Zine is a seasonal print publication, diving deep into 1970s-80s Japanese music & audio culture. We're thankful for exclusively featuring resør electronics, along Audio Technica and Audio Note.

For Aleks, founder of resør, sound and design have always been a way of life.

“My dad’s love for hi-fi was everywhere—at home with his set up equipment and at my grandparents’ house, filled with the speakers, amps, and other gear he built while studying electronics,” he shares.

These early years naturally led Aleks to find his own way into the world of audio engineering. As a DJ, Aleks experienced the unique relationship between music and the audience but felt that existing mixers didn’t reflect the quality he valued from his background. Drawing on his roots and inspired by Dieter Rams’ philosophy of “less, but better,” he founded resør.

"Good design isn’t meant to dominate but to fit naturally into its environment," Aleks explains. This approach defines resør’s clean design language, focusing on functionality, durability, and timeless aesthetics.

At resør, sound is treated as a form of art. Each mixer features discrete Class-A circuitry, delivering unadulterated sound—no distortion, no noise, no compromises.

Works like Douglas Self’s Electronics for Vinyl influence resør’s approach, integrating principles such as accurate RIAA equalisation and subsonic filtering to ensure exceptional clarity and low-frequency control.

Every resør is a testament to patience and precision, with extensive customisation options—from several faceplate colours to wooden enclosure and knobs—each mixer is built with a distinctive finish, designed to inspire DJ’s and elevate their craft to new heights.
